As explained under research methodology, my process of mapping out the process of my memory formation involves two stage. Firstly, I draw purely from memory without any prompts. Secondly, I refer to non-pictorial prompts such as diary entries, screenshots etc. to further trace back my memories. I then map this process down on canvas. The following shows some of the diary entries and screenshots that were utilised.
In most of my works, I do not sketch before painting. I paint directly on silk, utilizing the technique of memory drawing. However, silk is a new medium to me. Hence, I struggled a lot with controlling paint on silk when I first started. Memory drawing was also a new technique for me. Thus, I practiced memory drawing using paper as a canvas in the initial stages.
